FISKARS OYJ ABP – THE TORBY (Later “the hotel”, “The Torby” or “The Torby hotel”)
GENERAL BOOKING TERMS AND STAY REGULATIONS
These terms apply to room bookings for individual guests (private bookings). Individuals can book up to a maximum of four (4) rooms. Bookings including five (5) rooms or more are subject to group booking conditions (clause 13).
1. BOOKING AND CONFIRMATION
When booking, you must provide your name, residential address, arrival and departure times, and payment method. The booking becomes binding for the hotel once it has been confirmed orally, in writing, or via email, and you have received a confirmation number.
2. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Rooms are available from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 11:00 AM on the day of departure. For security reasons, only hotel staff and checked-in guests are allowed in hotel rooms and other booked areas, and the maximum number of persons per room and area must not be exceeded.
Rooms are held until 4:00 PM on the scheduled arrival day stated in the booking. If you arrive later than this, you must confirm your late arrival with a credit card or by another agreed-upon method. Otherwise, the hotel may resell the room. If you arrive within the arrival times but the booked room is not available, the hotel must provide a comparable room nearby at no extra cost.
3. GUARANTEE
All bookings must be guaranteed with a credit card upon confirmation*. To guarantee the booking, credit card information must be provided through a secure guarantee link sent via email. We do not accept credit card information over the phone or directly via email info@thetorby.fi
4. CANCELLATION AND NO-SHOW
Unless otherwise agreed upon during booking or if your chosen rate or booking period specifies other conditions, cancellations must be made no later than 4:00 PM on the day of arrival.
Flexible Rate
Free cancellation by 4:00 PM on the day of arrival. If cancellation occurs later, we will charge one night’s stay including taxes.
The credit card provided during booking will be charged for the first night’s amount.
Non-refundable Rate
The booking is confirmed by paying the full amount during the booking process in advance. This booking does not allow for free cancellation. The pre-paid amount for the reservation will not be refunded.
5. DEPARTURE BEFORE AGREED TIME
If you leave the hotel before the agreed departure date, you must inform the hotel by 4:00 PM the day before your departure. For stays of multiple nights, you are liable to pay for the agreed price for the entire unused period.
6. PAYMENTS
The hotel accepts major credit cards, which are specified as acceptable by the hotel in advance.
If the room has not been prepaid, the hotel room must be paid for with a credit card upon arrival at the hotel.
Upon check-in, the hotel will reserve the full value of the accommodation from your credit card.
Additionally, the hotel reserves the right to charge the customer’s credit card used for the booking for any purchases and/or damaged items related to the accommodation after the customer’s departure without prior notification.
7. GUESTS AT THE ACCOMMODATION
For security reasons, only individuals checked into the hotel are allowed access to hotel rooms and other booked areas. The maximum occupancy per room or area must not be exceeded.
Guests checked into hotel rooms are responsible for adhering to hotel rules and for the furnishings of the hotel room.
8. RESPONSIBILITY FOR CUSTOMER’S PROPERTY
Upon request, the hotel may accept the customer’s luggage for safekeeping during reception service hours. The hotel is not responsible for any property kept in storage; it is at the customer’s own risk.
The hotel is not responsible for any damage or loss of vehicles or property inside vehicles parked in the hotel’s parking area. The hotel must clearly indicate in its parking area that it is not a monitored area, and the hotel is not responsible for the customer’s property left there.
9. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE
As a customer, you are liable for any damages caused intentionally or negligently (such as smoking in the room) by you, your guests, or your pets to the hotel room or other hotel areas, including furniture or equipment therein, as well as to other hotel guests or their property. Responsibility for damage is determined according to general principles of compensation for damages. We charge €500 for smoking in the room and €100 for excessive room cleaning. Damages to furniture, furnishings, or equipment are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
10. ACCOMMODATION OF MINORS
Room reservations can only be made by individuals over 18 years of age. The person making the reservation for a minor is responsible for the minor, regardless of whether they are staying with them or not. A minor staying alone must have a written, informal permission slip signed by a guardian, stating the minor’s name, date of birth, dates of stay, as well as the guardian’s name and phone number.
Children under 2 years old can receive a travel cot free of charge. Additional beds are available for children aged 4-17 at €45 per night, including breakfast. The hotel has a limited number of travel cots and extra beds; please inform us of your needs in advance by email: info@thetorby.fi .
11. PETS
Pets are welcome in some of our rooms. We charge a fee of €30 per stay for pets, which includes up to three pets.
Since the number of pet-friendly rooms is limited, please always inform us in advance via email at info@thetorby.fi if you plan to bring pets.
The registered guest is responsible for the well-being of their pet, as well as for any damages or costs that the pet may cause. Pets must not disturb other hotel guests.
12. THE TORBY HOTEL’S RIGHT TO CANCEL
In case of force majeure or circumstances beyond the hotel’s control (such as fire or water damage, regulatory authorities), the hotel may cancel the booking. In this case, the customer is entitled to a full refund of the amount paid.
13. GROUP BOOKINGS
Bookings with five (5) rooms or more are treated as group reservations. Please contact the hotel to make a group reservation. Group reservations are confirmed in writing and include reservation conditions such as cancellation policies, payment methods, booking confirmation, guest lists, room allocation, and other important details regarding the group’s accommodation.
